Famous People for School Students
Charlemagne (c.747–814) NEW
Charles the Hammer was the father of Pepin the Short who was the father of Charlemagne who married Desiderata, Hildegard, Fastrada and Luitgard, and whose offspring included Pepin the Hunchback. Apart from family matters, Charlemagne created an empire that included much of modern Europe and Eastern Europe, thus founding the Holy Roman Empire. He was strong in promoting education, learning and the arts … but not for the Saxons! He was nasty towards the Saxons. Quite, quite nasty!!!
